We're going to give the car park at Wakari a tidy on Sunday morning. If you've got an hour to spare then any help would be appreciated. We'll be there with plenty of tools from 9am.
We'll be weeding the area around the plantings, getting rid of the grass on the parking area, reinstalling the post & chain fence, tidying up the signage. All easy stuff.
On Sunday afternoon we'll be tidying up the farm track through Anderson's place so we can get some gravel up to the top of Nicols Creek. If you can help with that then txt Hamish on 027 442 6474.
On Monday we'll be carting gravel up the hill. If you're comfortable driving a small truck or running one of the tracked dumpers, let us know.
On Sunday Tim organised a tidy up at Wakari Creek as the car park was looking a bit unloved. A big thanks to everyone that leant a hand.\uap>Tim, Alan, Glyn, Pete and Merrin tackled the weeds, grass and gorse that has been creeping up through the plantings. The weather has been great for growing weeds, but that also means that the grasses and natives are all doing really well. \uap>Adrian whipped around and sprayed a few problem areas, while Cam and one-armed Mark fixed up the post and chain fence. They also put up another couple of signs at the start of the Redwood Loop, while Glyn and Tim straightened some others. \uap>Lots of hands made pretty short work of it all, with everyone free to go play on their bikes by lunch time. \uap>
