Fantastic news! Mountainbiking Otago has been awarded a $20,000 Community Service grant from the Dunedin City Council. This will go towards track maintenance, helping to keep our track network in tip-top condition.

Over the past 20 years MBO has developed nearly 50km of tracks around Dunedin. A huge amount of work (and money) has gone into our trails, and given Dunedin's challenging terrain and climate, it's really important that we keep on top of maintenance to protect our investment. This means lots of spraying, weed-eating, spraying, drainage, spraying, graveling, and yet more spraying.

For the last 2 years the DCC has helped out with a $10,000 annual grant for maintenance. This has enabled us to employ a specialist contractor for several months, but we've still had to dip into cash reserves each year to top up the grant money. With $20,000 now dedicated to maintenance, we'll be able to do an even better job this summer. Thank you DCC!
