Anyone interested in get a group together to look at sorting out some damp areas of the big easy.

Most of the track from the Signal Hill car park down to the Plateau is sorted. I graveled a area where the Big Easy first meets up with the Treaty track above the Plateau. When it rains it was getting muddy so have cut in a channel and laid some gravel to hopefully keep it in great shape.

The next area I would like to work on is the section of the Big Easy above the 4 WD track that comes down from the water tower. I have laid a heap of rocks in there to give it a solid base but need to get gravel in to smooth it out and make it in tip top shape. The only way I could see this would be to run a loader down the 4WD track to the Big Easy or a wheel barrow, while enjoyable it is rather time consuming carting it that distance :)

Any thoughts

Cheers Mike

Hi Mike,I'd be a starter to do some work on the Big Easy

When are you thinking Mike? i'll see if i can get someone to bring the club dumper

Good work on the rest of what you've done, definitely dried a few moist bits out.

Cheers

We need to see about shifting some grave further down the hill, if this is done with the loader from the current location it would take a bit of time before we can look at getting in with wheel barrows. I will speak to Greg or Hamish and see what I can arrange.

I might look at heading up there in the weekend to dig in some gutters to keep the water of the track. Will put up a post when I do :)

Wanting to go up the Big Easy to the pile of gravel by the skid site tomorrow (Wednesday) after work and shift some gravel down the hill and dig some gutters in if anyone interested

I figured that it keeps the water off the track therefor keeps the track heaps drier :)

Cheers Mike

Mike said: Cut in a culvet below the gravel pile then got carried away on this burm, will be really good when it is finished and had a chance to dry out as the clay is pretty wet.

Covered it with gravel to look the part though :)

Went up this weekend to work on the boggy bits above the second stream crossing at the bottom of the big easy. Put some rocks from the river in them and grabbed some stones from further down the track. Hopefully it dries up and hardens.

If your riding over these areas please be kind so it has a chance to dry :)
