NISSMTB NEWS:

Auckland Mountain Bike and Downhill Clubs are excited to be able to offer a new event on the mountain bike calendar – the North Island Secondary Schools Mountain Bike Champs – to be held in the picturesque Hunua Ranges, 22 and 23 March, 2014.

Lots of riders were disappointed at last year’s cancellation of the Levin Nationals, and we want YOU to make the NISS event a success. Auckland Grammar intends to have 20 riders there and we are issuing Schools the challenge to match this commitment.

If this event is a success we have the option to host the nationals in 2015 and are planning an event with a real festival atmosphere, camping and entertainment: but to make this happen, we need you to support this initial event.

Competitors need to enter ALL three races to have a chance at the age group title.

We would be very disappointed if you did not get behind this event that we have worked so hard to put together.

We have heard that a number of mainlanders are keen to compete so we are formally inviting South Island riders to enter as ‘guests’. Whilst you will not be eligible for medals and trophies you will be recognised on the day, with certificates and chances to win spot prizes. However, we need to limit this to the first 50 S.I. riders to contact the event manager.

Please see www.nissmtb.co.nz , NZSSSC, and College Sport Auckland for details and contact the event manager j.hasler@ags.school.nz .
